Son Goku, Dragon Ball’s Saiyan raised on Earth.
Saitama, Caped Baldy and the One Punch Man.
These two have a reputation as some of the strongest characters across all of anime. Their skills, power, and above all their legacies stand second to none across the entire medium. Their long journeys have taken them across the world, into space, and pit them against some of the most intimidating villains, (as well as heroes), ever known. Seeking the biggest challenge around though, they’ve run into each other. Which warrior will take the title of “Strongest” in a DEATH BATTLE? There’s only one way to find out…
Before We Start…
For Goku, we’ll be covering the events of Toriyama-led Dragon Ball projects, namely the original Dragon Ball manga, the Dragon Ball Super anime and manga, and the anime Dragon Ball Daima. However, as times change and standards for compositing become noticeably less strict, we have also opted to include things like the original Toei anime and everything it brings, its sequel series Dragon Ball GT, as well as the non-canon movies such as Wrath of the Dragon or Fusion Reborn. While these obviously aren’t canon, they also aren’t as blatantly disconnected from the original story as something like Xenoverse or Heroes with Toei, GT, and the Movies all having at least some sort of acknowledgement and or input from Toriyama himself.
For Saitama, we covered the One Punch Man manga and anime, as well as the original Webcomic’s version of events. Though one factor is notable enough to point out…
Usage of Retconned Chapters

As most probably know by now, Yusuke Murata has a tendency to completely overhaul several chapters of the OPM manga at a whim, effectively removing many chapters from canon and replacing them with different versions of events. It’s unclear whether or not the events of these erased chapters will be factored into the Death Battle, but we made sure to look into them for the sake of total completion.
Goku
Background

“I don’t think I’m a hero of justice or anything… but those who’d hurt my friends… I won’t forgive!”
In the beginning, a child with a monkey’s tail found himself in the woods of Mount Paozu. He was found and taken in by the great martial artist Son Gohan, who gave him the now legendary name of Son Goku. At first, he was discovered to be an aggressive and ill-tempered kid. It got to the point that he wouldn’t obey Gohan. Such rude behavior coming from him resulted in Goku falling into a deep ravine and suffering a long-term amnesia, knowing nothing of his origins or where he might have come from. All It did was to change him from being an aggressive and ill-tempered kid to a good and mild-mannered kid.
After the drastic change in his personality, Grandpa Gohan decided to teach him martial arts, leading him into the world of strong opponents that Goku would get to fight throughout his life. However, Gohan also warned him to not do the following: never look at the full moon or the Great Ape will appear. Curious, Goku decided to look at the moon while it’s full that night. And then next thing he knew, Goku woke up the next morning to find out that his grandpa had suddenly died due to the Great Ape.
Without his grandpa to lead and help him, Goku had to rely on himself and his skills with Power Pole and Four Star Dragon Ball that he inherited and would come to cherish from his dead grandpa to survive in the wilderness of Mount Paozu. That, is until the day where fateful meeting was about to take place as Goku was coming back with Great Fish that he fished out to only get hit by a car, said car belongs to Bulma, who was looking for small magical orbs which are known as Dragon Balls that is rumored to grant one wish to person that gained all 7 balls. As a result of this fateful meeting between Goku and Bulma, a great journey for the monkey kid has started which would change him and his life forever.
In this journey, Goku met many lifelong friends and grew to truly understand his passion for the martial arts, choosing to train with Master Roshi and partaking in multiple World Tournaments in between his own adventures, facing enemies like the mysterious Jackie Chun and Tenshinhan while defeating threats to the world like the Red Ribbon Army and the Demon King Piccolo.
Goku thought that his adventures would finally end after he defeated Piccolo at the finals of 23rd World Martial Arts Tournaments as he settled with Chi Chi and finally had a son who he named after his late grandpa, Son Gohan. That is, until the arrival of his long-lost brother from space, Raditz, where Goku would learn that his great journey would never end. Learning from his brother, he wasn’t a special kid that happened to have a monkey tail- He is part of an alien race called Saiyan with the ability to transform into Great Apes and possesses great powers in a way humans never did! And yet, this knowledge did little to change Goku. Dubbing himself a Saiyan from Earth, Goku rejected the violent warmongering ways of the Saiyan race, continuing to protect his friends and home no matter the alien threats that came to them.
It is his newfound determination and brave persona that Goku was able to achieve an impossibility that Vegeta was mere legend from the Saiyan Race; transforming into Super Saiyan for the first time in the battle against Frieza on Namek! With the awesome power of Super Saiyan also which brings new avenues of training and new threats out into the world at same time. Between fighting against Androids that were Dr. Gero’s hardworks and Cell, Goku realized that as long as he remained, he would eventually attract more potential threats. So Goku had to make his own decision, to stay dead after giving his life up during the final battle against Cell.
As he remained dead, Goku was able to train endlessly in the Other World, evolving his Super Saiyan forms to 2 and 3. With the world at peace, Goku thought they wouldn’t need him anymore. That is until there’s new threats on the horizon which is the awakening of Majin Buu. Recognizing the reality of the new threat, Goku has no choice but to return from the dead to save the world from the evil Buu. In what seems to be the final battle, Goku managed to eradicate Kid Buu with a Giant Spirit Bomb.
With the peace restored to the world, Goku continued to train, continuing to reach even greater heights. He met the God of Destruction and learned that there were many universes out there with their own fighters, new challenges to overcome, new trials to surpass. And so Goku continued to grow, reaching the level of the Gods, mastering techniques from the Angels themselves, and always striving to be stronger than he was the day before. Because to Goku, nothing beats the sheer excitement of reaching new heights.
Experience & Skill

Few titles fit Goku as well as that of a master martial artist. Ever since he was a child in the mountains of Mount Paozu, Goku has trained and honed his skills more and more, never stopping his training even during his own death!
Goku’s training was amplified by his time under his various masters. Grandpa Gohan, Master Roshi and the Cat Hermit Korin, each of them renowned throughout the world as being unmatched Gods of Martial Arts. Fittingly, his masters afterwards were the Gods themselves: the Kami of Earth, King Kai of the North Galaxy and Whis, the Angel Attendant of Universe 7’s God of Destruction. Each one of these masters was instrumental to Goku’s growth, amplified by the fact that the monkey boy was an unnaturally quick learner! He was capable of mimicking the Kamehameha after just seeing it once, though not to its full efficiency, and completely copied Jackie Chun’s afterimage technique after watching him use it in the Tenkaichi Budokai, turning it into one of his signature moves. Even techniques such as the power of Destruction and the divine Ultra Instinct aren’t beyond Goku’s mastery, and while he never bothered with the former, he quickly made the latter into a power all his own.
Goku is also an incredibly intelligent fighter and a quick thinker at that. He matched Jackie Chun blow for blow, quickly coming up with new moves and strategies on the fly to counteract Jackie’s own unorthodox tactics, and he’s been shown to be able to outsmart his foes many times after that. Successfully tricking Grandpa Gohan with his afterimages, outbluffing Tien’s double bluff during the Budokai, using Frieza’s lack of Ki sensing to his advantage in order to strike the Emperor hard and catching Cell completely off-guard by teleporting at the last second while having a Kamehameha charging up. Just some examples of Goku being able to outplay those just as good at fighting as he is.
Goku’s track record against other martial artists is also something to behold. During his three times participating in the Budokai, he was the runner-up twice in a row, only barely being defeated by Jackie Chun’s quick thinking and losing to Tien Shinhan out of sheer bad luck rather than skill, before being crowned as the World’s Strongest(™) by defeating Piccolo Junior. Goku’s prowess also allowed him to match Hit, an expert assassin with centuries of experience, and allowed him to be one of the last standing fighters in the Tournament of Power, which featured the strongest fighters in eight whole universes throwing it down in a Battle Royale. And after gaining a better grasp on Ultra Instinct, Beerus refers to his skill as godlike, admitting he has to give respect where it’s due. There is little doubt that Goku is one of the greatest fighters the Universes have ever seen, and he’s got the skills to blow Zeno away.
Martial Arts Techniques
- Rock Paper Scissors: Goku’s earliest signature move. Goku starts the attack as though he was playing an actual game of Rock Paper Scissors, with three variations of his choice. “Rock” is a straight up punch, “Paper” is a mighty palm strike, and “Scissors” is a poke straight to the eyes. You never know what he’s gonna do next!
- Afterimages: Goku can move with such blinding speed that he can leave behind afterimages of himself to confuse and distract foes.
- Tornado!: Goku spins around like an idiot. Not super effective… but not completely worthless either.
- Crazy Fist: To counter Jackie Chun’s Drunken Fist, Goku developed his own technique: acting like a mad dog or a wild monkey to catch Jackie off-guard.
- Eight-Arm Fist: To counter Tien physically growing two extra limbs, Goku moved his arms so fast that it looked like he had eight arms! Amazing.
- Meteor Combination: Goku’s most iconic rush attack. He charges towards an enemy before striking them with an elbow strike, followed by a series of kicks and a heavy punch straight to the gut. With the enemy stunned, Goku jumps to the air and fires a Super Kamehameha!
Equipment
Power Pole

A gift from his grandfather before he passed, the Power Pole is a magical staff that is able to extend far, even reaching the moon from earth’s surface. An unbreakable tool that Goku used to great avail throughout Dragon Ball and parts of Z.
Flying Nimbus

A gift Goku received from Master Roshi. This sentient cloud allows those who possess a pure heart to stand on it, and use it for flight. Before Goku learned to utilize his main mobility techniques, this was the main way he got around.
While a strong enough attack can dissipate the Flying Nimbus, it cannot be truly destroyed, and Goku can always call it back later.
Weighted Clothing

A Classic Dragon Ball training tool (even if the concept lost meaning after a while….), Goku’s own clothes aren’t as light as they look, but are instead filled with built-in weights that he uses in order to improve his training, weighing as high as 100 Kilo. He can discard them for a boost of speed and power.
Senzu Beans

Magical beans that can restore a person back to peak physical condition when consumed. So great is their healing power, they regrown holes in chest like the one Yamcha received, and were even implied to have been capable of growing Future Gohan’s arm back. They can also restore stamina and ki, and help Saiyans get a Zenkai Boost after consumption.
Abilities
Saiyan Physiology

Goku is a part of the legendary Saiyan race, believed by many to be the strongest species in the cosmos. A deadly warrior species, the average Saiyan is already born with an inner lust for battle, and the fighting instincts to match. Due to their home planet, Vegeta, possessing gravity at least ten times that of Earth’s, Saiyans are able to naturally develop superhuman strength and speed. They also possess a natural affinity for manipulating Ki, naturally unleashing devastating energy attacks against their foes.
But perhaps the most integral aspect of a Saiyan’s strength is what is colloquially known as the Zenkai Boost, otherwise referred to as Saiyan Power. Whenever a Saiyan enters a battle tough enough to leave them at the very brink of death itself and are able to recover from such an encounter, their battle power skyrockets.
Of course, Goku has experienced many fights to the death, and as such his Saiyan Power has allowed him to grow to absurd heights over the years. One of the most famous examples of this power to evolve lies in Goku’s trip to Planet Namek. By engaging in a cycle of constantly training under gravity 100 times greater than Earth’s, recovering with a Senzu Bean once he got too injured, then training again, Goku managed to break his limits so hard that Vegeta was utterly convinced he had already reached the level of Super Saiyan. When he arrived to face the Ginyu Force, his Power Level had risen from 8,000 to 90,000. And after his battle against Captain Ginyu, Goku’s power jumped again, going from 90,000 to a monstrous 3,000,000! With every fight, every grueling training session, Goku simply continues to grow more and more.
Ki Manipulation

Ki is the natural life force present in all living things, always surrounding their whole body, as well as a person’s mental strength. Weaponizing Ki to perform incredible abilities is an invaluable skill for any martial artist to have, and Goku is no exception. Ki can be used in several different ways, with Goku being shown to use it to sense the presence and exact location of others, create forcefields, communicate telepathically, read minds and even use telekinesis to restrain enemies and move them around. In desperate situations, Goku can even use Ki to heal himself.
Between the Saiyan Race’s natural affinity with Ki and Goku’s training with Master Roshi, Goku has showcased a wide variety of Ki-based techniques at his disposal.
Ki Abilities
- Solar Flare: A technique Goku learned from Tenshinhan. This ability allows Goku to project an incredibly bright light, blinding those who gaze upon it. This gives Goku an opening to strike, or time to run away, while the opponent is stunned by a sudden lack of vision.
- Kiai: The ability to generate shockwaves to strike far away opponents. Goku mainly uses Kiai in his Shockwave Fist and Soaring Fist techniques, which send his enemies flying, though he can also push enemies away without specific techniques. This ability can even be used defensively. With a single shout, Goku is capable of completely negating enemy projectiles, not even needing to dodge.
- God Bind: Using godly Ki, Goku can trap his opponent with something akin to telekinesis, immobilizing them entirely. Goku has used this in the past to try and keep Broly at bay, and would later use it on Moro before delivering one of the most satisfying gut punches in all of Dragon Ball.
- Destructo Disk: The signature move of Goku’s bestie Krillin, the Destructo Disk is an attack capable of seemingly cutting through nearly everything regardless of the gap in power. While the Toei anime did have it fail against the likes of Cell, no canon material has really gone against this idea, with even an opponent as late in the series as Cell Max being able to be hurt by Krillin’s own Destructo Disk. Goku himself has used this technique a few times, namely to cut Buu in half as well as try and ring Jiren out from the Tournament of Power.
- Dragon Fist: Goku’s single coolest attack, no questions asked. By creating a massive golden dragon out of Ki, Goku punches directly into and through whatever enemy is caught by the attack, with certain properties of the attack changing depending on how Goku uses it, namely for example the attack being capable of restricting Hirudegarn in Wrath of the Dragon or wrapping around an entire city before diving into and exploding Eis Shenron in GT.
Kamehameha

The famous and iconic ki beam technique that Goku learned while mimicking Roshi’s signature move. By cupping his hands and focusing ki into a single point between them, Goku can then fire out a continuous stream of energy. Goku chants the name of the attack slowly during the windup, though it’s not a requirement. Though he hasn’t done it himself, Goku can use his own life force as energy for the Kamehameha, granting it power far above his usual output. Over the years, Goku has trained and perfected his use of it, using several variants and even creating some of his own.
- Reverse Kamehameha – Goku can use the force of the Kamehameha to propel himself, allowing him to stay airborne, change directions, or fly, though he doesn’t have as much use for this now due to him learning how to fly.
- Bending Kamehameha – Goku can will the Kamehameha to bend and change directions while and after it’s being fired.
- Kamehameha Barrage – A variant where Goku fires out multiple Kamehamehas.
- One-Handed Kamehameha – Goku can fire out the Kamehameha with one hand.
- Continuous Kamehameha – Goku can fire out multiple Kamehamehas from each hand repeatedly, a variant acquired through intense training.
- Double Kamehameha – Goku puts his arms out and fires two Kamehamehas simultaneously.
- Triple Kamehameha – A variant where Goku can fire out a third one forward.
- Super Kamehameha – A stronger variant of the regular Kamehameha, with a bigger build up and larger beam.
- God Kamehameha – A version of the Kamehameha used by Goku in his God forms.
- Divine Kamehameha – A variant used by Goku in his UI forms, he can maintain it as an energy sphere to slide along the surface of other ki attacks, or even alter its flow to act as a barrier.
- Instant Kamehameha – Goku charges up the Kamehameha and uses Instant Transmission to relocate himself right before completing the chant and firing it.
- Feet Kamehameha – Goku uses his feet to fire out the Kamehameha.
- Kaio-Ken Kamehameha – Goku uses the Kamehameha empowered by the Kaioken.
- Multiple Kamehameha – While this is a group attack, Goku can theoretically perform it solo through use of a cloning technique. By firing out multiple Kamehamehas, they can merge together in one giant Kamehameha.
- Twin Dragon Shot – Goku charges up two Kamehamehas into energy spheres and fires them out. He can control their direction even after they’re fired, using arm movements to do so.
Kaio-Ken

An incredible technique, taught to Goku by King Kai. By controlling all of the Ki in his body at once and amplifying all of it in one go, Goku’s power and speed are multiplied several times over. The Kaio-Ken can severely strain one’s body, and at first Goku was advised to not go higher than double his normal strength, but with his increases in strength, his body has become capable of withstanding so much more. During Goku’s fight with Vegeta, he unleashed a Kaio-Ken that multiplied his strength times four. By the time he fought against Frieza, he could sustain a Kaio-Ken times ten throughout most of the fight, and he managed to go as far as Kaio-Ken times twenty!
After learning how to utilize the Super Saiyan transformations, Goku stopped relying on the Kaio-Ken as often, but the technique made its grand return when Goku revealed he was capable of stacking it up with Super Saiyan Blue, going up to Super Saiyan Blue Kaio-Ken Times Twenty!
Spirit Bomb

One of Goku’s ultimate trump cards, taught to him by King Kai. The Spirit Bomb is a technique in which Goku gathers energy from all surrounding life, from grass and trees to people and animals, to inanimate objects and the very atmosphere itself. With enough training, you can even tap into the power of the sun. But Goku has managed to go even further beyond with the Spirit Bomb. By the battle against Frieza, Goku was able to tap into the energy of surrounding planets to amplify the attack as much as possible, and against Majin Buu, thanks to some help from Mr. Satan, Goku was able to gather energy from Earth’s population, who willingly raised their hands to give him as much as they could. Iterations like Dragon Ball GT even feature Goku calling in energy from across the entire universe to defeat Omega Shenron.
However, the Spirit Bomb has two major drawbacks. Gathering energy is a long process, and it would be nearly impossible to make the larger versions of the attack in one-on-one combat. Plus, if the opponent happens to be someone pure of heart, the Spirit Bomb will not be able to harm them, and they’ll be able to deflect it with ease.
Instant Transmission

A technique that Goku learned from training with the Yardrats, also known simply as the Teleport. By locking on to the Ki of specific people, Goku can teleport instantaneously to their location. It’s an unrivaled mobility tool, and Goku has utilized it to teleport in combat, such as when he teleported last minute to be directly underneath Cell after charging a Kamehameha, catching him completely off-guard. In Kakarot, we see that from Goku’s perspective time is frozen while using Instant Transmission, which is consistent with the films & games added Instant Transmission’s lore, featuring it as a dimension IT’s users travel through that exists outside of normal time.
Evil Containment Wave

An ancient technique developed by Master Mutaito to seal the Demon King Piccolo. The Evil Containment Wave, or Mafuba, is an incredibly potent sealing technique, but is also very difficult to master. For it to work as intended, one requires a container and a talisman. Using the technique, the caster needs to aim for the container with perfect precision to trap the enemy inside, with the talisman ensuring that they cannot escape.
Goku learned this technique in preparation for his battle against the immortal Zamasu, being able to use it successfully after training with Master Roshi.
The Mafuba requires a good deal of physical strength from the caster. If one were to perform the technique on a powerful foe, it can lead to their own death from overexertion, having been the cause of death for both Master Mutaito and Master Roshi. In addition, any damage done to the container renders the technique entirely unusable, and without a proper talisman, the target will easily escape.
Hakai
The ultimate technique of Dragon Ball’s Gods of Destruction, Hakai is the single most deadly attack within the entirety of Dragon Ball due to its ability to erase its target from existence. Hakai’s erasure does not just erase one’s physical body however, as it erases you on a spiritual and even temporal level. While Hakai has plenty of different applications in Dragon Ball, Goku seems to only know the version showcased by Beerus against Zamasu, which involves opening one’s palm and focusing Destruction Energy on a single specific target. Although it has been argued before that Goku’s proficiency in the ability isn’t stable enough to be used properly, his original Hakai against Zamasu only failed primarily due to Zamasu taking Mai as a hostage rather than Goku being unable to use Hakai’s properties of erasure, furthermore, Goku’s replication of the technique was without him even seeing it, meaning it’s likely he’d have better control over it now that’s he properly seen it in action.
Pure Heart

Goku is a warrior, pure of heart! This extreme purity essentially translates to Goku having absolutely no negative thoughts or any evil in his heart, which actually does grant him some unique traits. It is Goku’s pure heart that allows him to use the Flying Nimbus and the Spirit Bomb, which cannot be done otherwise. This purity also grants Goku immunity to the Devilmite Beam, a technique which amplifies the evil in your heart until you explode, and Babidi’s brand of mind control, which requires tapping into one’s evil.
Fourth Wall Awareness

Fitting for Dragon Ball’s origins as a gag manga, Goku has a few instances of breaking the fourth wall. Once quite literally, as he smashed Yamcha into the panel’s border and shattered a piece of it. Goku’s first ever transformation into a Great Ape was so shocking, even the author of the story himself was terrified, unaware of how the story would proceed.
In the Dragon Ball Super anime, Goku even fought against Arale Norimaki of Dr. Slump fame. Earlier in the episode, Vegeta had noted that Arale was a gag manga character, so his traditional Battle Shonen strategies would not work on her. In spite of that, Goku in Super Saiyan Blue was able to perfectly match Arale in a beam clash.
Resistances

- Extreme Temperature: Powering up into Super Saiyan allowed Vegeta to break his arm out of being frozen in Absolute Zero temperatures. He was also fine being inside Magma against his fight from Frieza and Broly
- Mind Manipulation: Vegeta’s sheer willpower overpowered Babidi’s mind control, allowing him to keep his free will
- Illusions: In his youth, Goku overcame the illusions of the Darkness entity guarding the Ultra Divine Water and saw through the illusionary monster of the Dark World
- Battlefield Removal: Characters like Super Buu and Gotenks can tear holes out of alternate dimensions through screaming.
- Time Manipulation: Jiren possesses power that transcends time itself, and was able to break free from Hit’s Time Cage. Goku possesses a similar level of power as Jiren.
- Empathy Manipulation: Goku was completely unaffected by the Light of Love, an attack by Ribrianne that spreads an aroma, all who smell it falling in love with Ribrianne.
- Radiation: Goku has been shown to be able to fight in Earth’s upper atmosphere, which has extremely high levels of radiation
- Poison Manipulation: Ki Barriers can protect one from the effects of poisons.
- Petrification: Ki Barriers can protect one’s body from being petrified.
- Spatial Manipulation: Goku took hits from Anilaza, who could bend space through raw power. Vegeta was capable of clashing with Goku Black’s Scythe of Sorrow, which can cut holes to alternate realities
- Existence Erasure: Goku was able to briefly survive being trapped within a sphere of Hakai energy.
Forms
Super Saiyan

The original yellow-haired Super form whose debut had one of the biggest impacts in anime culture. This form was originally thought to be a mere legend passed down by the Saiyan race, one even feared by the warlord and destroyer of Planet Vegeta, Freeza. Goku obtained this form after Krillin was blown up before his very eyes and the resulting rage building up until it exploded with that fateful scream of rage. It would be this very form that would push Final Form Freeza to his limits in their fateful fight in Planet Namek and even traumatise him for some time, and with good reason.
This form grants far greater power and speed, and while the exact multiplier of the Super Saiyan form varies depending on the source, the Daizenshuu states that it is a 50x power increase compared to one’s base form.
However, Goku quickly figured out that there were flaws in the transformation that could be improved upon. By training in the Hyperbolic Time Chamber, Goku completely mastered the Super Saiyan form, being able to remain in it as though it was his base state and minimizing strain during battle.
Super Saiyan 2

This is the evolved form of the original Super Saiyan, even also called Super Saiyan Fifth Grade. In order to achieve this form, Goku had to perform extensive training in Otherworld.
This form is twice as powerful as the original Super Saiyan transformation, but unlike upgrades like Second and Third Grade, also grants an increase in speed, being exclusively beneficial. It was to the point that Gohan had blitzed Perfect Cell a couple times.
Super Saiyan 3

A further evolved form of Super Saiyan Goku achieved while training in the Heavens during his Seven Years being dead after the Cell Games. Its power is four times greater than Super Saiyan 2, consequently making it 8x more powerful than the original Super Saiyan form and 400x more powerful than Base Goku.
However, this form is extremely difficult to sustain. The stamina drain is so severe that Goku could only reliably use the form while dead, and can only use it for short bursts now that he’s alive, or he risks losing too much energy to continue fighting at all.
Super Saiyan 4

In Goku’s latest adventure on screen, we find out that not long after the events of the Buu Saga that Goku had sensed there was yet another transformation beyond Super Saiyan 3. A form that Goku was striving to unlock through training, but couldn’t quite pull it off by himself just yet when the events of Daima rolled around. During the battle with the Demon King Gomah and the terrifying power of his Tertian Oculus, a defeated Goku, still in his child form, had his power drawn out by the legendary Namekian Neva and finally reached that new form he was looking for: Super Saiyan 4.
There isn’t too much to say for this transformation in the way of a specific strength increase, at least for its Daima incarnation. Goku visibly becomes bigger and bulkier, his arms in particular growing disproportionately to his body and are more ape-like compared to his normal frame, matching the red fur and regrown tail. Its power allowed him to outmatch Gomah’s constant growth for a good amount of time, even after Gomah had already grown to match Super Saiyan 3 Vegeta, and even bust a hole in him with a Transcendent Kamehameha.
Looking at the other time Goku went Super Saiyan 4 in GT, using it as reference for lack of a more concrete source, Goku transforming into Super Saiyan 4 comes after he controls the power of a Golden Great Ape, which stacks the Super Saiyan forms on top of a Great Ape. As a Golden Great Ape alone, GT Goku’s power eclipsed that of Strongest Form 2 Baby Vegeta (a form that’s likely his SS3 equivalent) when previously Super Saiyan Baby Vegeta was already a match for Super Saiyan 3 Goku. Golden Great Ape closing that gap between Goku and Baby means the form is at minimum an ~8x multiplier, if not likely 10x if we simply stack Great Ape’s multiplier onto the previous Super Saiyan forms. As Goku in Super Saiyan 4 later keeps up with Golden Great Ape Baby Vegeta and can harm him, Super Saiyan 4 likely would be an additional ~8-10x multiplier for a whopping ~64 to 100x multiplier over Super Saiyan 3. That’s 25,600 to 40,000 times Goku’s base form!
Alternatively, there might not even be a hard multiplier for the transformation. Given how Goku in Daima achieves the form through a Namekian unleashing his inner power, it is perhaps more likely that Super Saiyan 4 represents Goku unlocking his latent potential akin to Gohan and Krillin on Namek receiving the same kind of boost from Elder Guru or Piccolo from Shenron. GT’s Super Saiyan 4 actually receives such statements in guidebooks; the form being stated to unlock Goku’s potential or drawing on its user’s power to their utmost limits.
So perhaps we throw numbers out the window for this form and just say this form represents the utmost limits of Goku’s body… at least before we enter the realm of the gods.
Super Saiyan God

Super Saiyan God is a transformation that made its debut in the Battle of Gods movie. Just like the original Super Saiyan, this was a form that was prophesied but in a different way with Beerus having seen it in his dreams instead. The form was not obtained in Goku’s case by either training or moments of intense suffering like the previous forms but with a ritual using five righteous Saiyans (hybrids counted) pouring their power into a sixth Saiyan. However it seems this form can also be attained through divine training, as Vegeta had unlocked Super Saiyan God through training with Whis.
As a Super Saiyan God (and subsequent divine forms), Goku has gained access to “God Ki”, which is undetectable to mortals, albeit the sheer pressure coming off these forms when powering up can be felt. Upon transforming into a Super Saiyan God, Goku had the power to match up to a suppressed Beerus, whose power in their earlier fight already surpassed a fusion between Goku and Vegeta in that moment. He would eventually make this transformation his own, absorbing the power into his normal forms while still being able to transform into Super Saiyan God later.
While promotional images for the Resurrection ‘F’ film initially promoted Goku & Vegeta having replaced transforming into Super Saiyan God by instead keeping that power in their base forms and turning Super Saiyan would instead turn them into the next godly equivalent, the subsequent Dragon Ball Super anime & manga would show that Goku and Vegeta could still access their normal Super Saiyan forms and turn into the regular Super Saiyan God. In fact during the Moro arc, when Goku is depowered from SSG, he reverts to Super Saiyan 3, confirming that the God forms are stacked on top of the regular Super Saiyan forms and not just activated off of Goku’s base. The coming remaster also teases Goku going directly from Super Saiyan into Super Saiyan God in its version of the Resurrection ‘F’ arc, meaning more than likely that “Saiyan Beyond God” doesn’t really exist beyond the original film, if it did at all.
Super Saiyan Blue

While training with Vegeta under their latest master, Whis, the two Saiyans had a glimpse of a new transformation beyond Super Saiyan God. By entering the Super Saiyan transformation while tapping into the God Ki he gained from becoming the Super Saiyan God, Goku can achieve a brand new, never before seen transformation, known as Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan… but everyone just calls it Super Saiyan Blue for short.
Due to the immense power of this form, it requires a high level of concentration and calmness to maintain which, while on paper seems to be a detriment, would end up proving useful as it is the inherent concentration needed to maintain the form that allows Goku to utilize the Kaio-ken in Super Saiyan Blue. However, Super Saiyan Blue had a fatal flaw. While it was incredibly powerful, thanks to combining the power boost of the Super Saiyan with the might of God Ki, it was extremely costful, wasting way too much energy every time Goku or Vegeta transformed into it. To mitigate this flaw, Goku had to master a new state…
Perfected Super Saiyan Blue

Goku’s solution to the Super Saiyan Blue problem. Blue’s power was literally overflowing, leaking out and making it only last an incredibly short time. However, Goku discovered how to seal all of that energy inside of his body at all times. Through this effort, Super Saiyan Blue was finally Perfected, allowing Goku to use the form at 100% efficiency at all times. While in regular Super Saiyan Blue, Goku and Vegeta were no match for the strength of Fused Zamasu, being completely defeated by him. But upon perfecting Blue, Goku was immediately able to stand up to Zamasu as an equal fighter, showing how much of an improvement this state is.
However, even this state is not without fault at first. Super Saiyan Blue is simply too strong for its own good, and maintaining all of its power within one’s body at all times can make it break under the weight. Though in the subsequent Tournament of Power, this appeared to no longer be an issue for Goku & Vegeta, the former even learning how to use Kaio-ken with Perfected Blue like in the anime. Goku is later even able to use a partial form of Ultra Instinct while in Perfected Super Saiyan Blue to keep up with Gas for an extended period of time.
Ultra Instinct Sign

Among the gods, there is a technique that stands at the absolute pinnacle of combat. It is the power to sever the link between one’s body and consciousness, allowing one to dodge incoming attacks subconsciously. This is Ultra Instinct.
Goku first tapped into the power of Ultra Instinct after surviving his own Spirit Bomb during the Tournament of Power. As he attempted to resist the Spirit Bomb’s power and survive, the shell to his outer limits was broken, allowing him to reach heights he physically couldn’t before. In the manga version, Goku just kind of realized the principles of Ultra Instinct from observing Master Roshi’s battle with Jiren and then recalling all his training with all his past masters, realizing all his years of mastering martial arts were all leading up to Ultra Instinct.
During Goku’s battle against Moro, thanks to some training with Merus, he became capable of accessing the initial stage of Ultra Instinct, Sign, at will. In this state, Goku is capable of moving so fast few are capable of tracking any of his movements, and his Ki becomes impossible for any but the Gods themselves to sense. However, as amazing as Sign is in terms of speed, it’s still very much an incomplete state, severely draining Goku’s stamina if he attempts to rely on it exclusively in battle.
Mastered Ultra Instinct
The ultimate power in Goku’s arsenal, achieved through reaching complete control of one’s emotions to maintain the balance required for the true power of Ultra Instinct. With Ultra Instinct Mastered, Goku was able to match and even surpass Jiren’s full power, as well as match the strength of Moro, who had absorbed the angelic power of Merus (when before this Moro had already surpassed Jiren & Broly), and hold his own against Gas, who wished to become the strongest in the universe.
In this Mastered state, Goku’s Ultra Instinct is not only far more refined when it comes to dodging attacks, it can also automatically make Goku’s body tougher to block incoming attacks when necessary. As long as Goku can keep his emotions in check, it is almost impossible to land a hit on Mastered Ultra Instinct. However, that drawback is more significant than one would assume. At the end of the day, Goku is a Saiyan, and his desire for battle often makes it hard to remain calm and tranquil enough to stay in the Mastered state, nor can he effectively draw upon the Saiyan power to grow when his emotions flare up. While he has been improving more and more as time goes by, no one knows when Goku will have truly mastered this form.
Mastered Ultra Instinct (Giant Form)

When under the most difficult of situations, Goku, while in Mastered Ultra Instinct, has shown the ability to manifest a gigantic Ki avatar to fight while his own body has reached its limit. Very little is understood about this ability, and Goku seemingly has yet to master calling upon it at will.
True Ultra Instinct

In the midst of his fight with the then-”Strongest in the Universe” Gas, Goku would realize he couldn’t make efficient use of Perfected Ultra Instinct due to its required state of calmness and lack of emotion. While Goku can maintain this zen-like state for minutes on end and even allow for anger to erupt out of Ultra Instinct for brief flashes of rage to overpower an opponent, he would still eventually lose the concentration and precision of the form over time as emotions like anger built up and, in a prolonged battle, eventually leave him vulnerable to counterattack.
Knowing that he wasn’t going to master Ultra Instinct completely any time soon, Goku instead decided to give in to his Saiyan heritage and learn how to use his emotions alongside Ultra Instinct resulting in “True Ultra Instinct”. By lowering his concentration of Ultra Instinct back down to its Sign state, Goku leaves more room for his emotions without completely sacrificing the concentration needed for Ultra Instinct’s autonomous movement. Or in simpler terms, Goku can draw out his typical Saiyan power increase from emotion while still being able to use the subconscious response power of Ultra Instinct. It is also likely less energy intensive than Ultra Instinct Sign by virtue of being able to rely on his Saiyan power, but Goku still states he can’t maintain the form for that long.
In this new form, Goku fought alongside Ultra Ego Vegeta against Gas and even briefly pushed him back in their fight. In fact, when he first transforms into it he becomes slightly stronger than Gas after he’d already defeated Ultra Ego Vegeta. Though it would prove ultimately inferior to Frieza and his newly attained form and Goku didn’t appear to use it in his sparring match with Beast Gohan after the events of Superhero, suggesting that Goku may have improved his usage of Mastered Ultra Instinct enough that he doesn’t need to rely on this variant anymore. Nonetheless, True Ultra Instinct was an important step to fully realizing Ultra Instinct and speaks to how Goku can truly make what he learns from others his own.

Scaling

While Goku may not be the single strongest being in all of Dragon Ball, he’s more than proven himself to be capable of going toe to toe with the best of them. While some characters like Broly in the past have been discounted due to statements from Toyotaro, Toyotaro has since gone on to describe Goku (as well as Vegeta, Piccolo, and Gohan) as being roughly equal to Broly, meaning he should be more than fine scaling to Broly as well as any other notable characters.

Dragon Ball Cosmology

Alright let’s do this one last time.
The Living World

The Living World, which was originally just The Universe before Super, is the closest thing in Dragon Ball to our own universe, albeit still differing greatly in many ways. The Living World, as the name implies, is where those who are alive reside, and is home to all life in the universe whether it be stars, planets, and even ourselves! Composed of 4 different areas/quadrants located in the 4 cardinal directions (North, South, East, and West), these quadrants are ruled over by 4 Kai’s and serve as the home to almost every major character and event in Dragon Ball.
Afterlife & Heaven
The Cosmos, otherwise known as the Afterlife, makes up the top portion of the Macrocosm and is Dragon Ball’s equivalent to the commonly held belief of well…an Afterlife. Composed of various realms such as the Kaio Realm (not to be confused with the Realm of the Kai’s), Enma’s Realm (Purgatory), and Hell. Despite both existing in the same Macrocosm, the Afterlife is dimensionally separate from the Living World, having its own distinct time-flow compared to the Living World and only being accessible if one is a God, knows a special teleportation technique such as the Kai Kai or Instant Transmission, or is of course, dead. Said to exist “higher than the sky” in a different dimensional space, it is described in the Daizenshuu as “a dimensionally transcendental heavenly country that cannot be perceived from the human realm. From this land, the gods look down upon the entire world.” The Cosmos serve as the domain of various Gods in Dragon Ball, containing everything from Heaven (which is stated to be as large as the universe) to King Kai’s Planet to Snake Way.
Kai World
The Realm of the Kai’s, not to be confused with the Kaio Realm in the Afterlife, is the final layer to the cosmology of individual universes in Dragon Ball. Existing in a dimension separate to both the entire Macrocosm itself, the Realm of the Kai’s orbits around its respective Universe in a manner similar to how the moon orbits around the Earth, with this orbit allowing Supreme Kai’s to oversee both the Living World and Afterlife. Stated to be around 1/10th the size of the Macrocosm, the realm is depicted as a glass sphere with various suns and one singular planet, known as the World of the Kai’s, and can only be accessed via teleportation techniques such as the Kai-Kai or Instant Transmission.
Realms Between the Universe

Room of Spirit and Time
The Room of Spirit & Time (commonly known as the Hyperbolic Time Chamber) is a special room located in another dimension and an area within the Subspace. This room is stated to have a completely different dimension of time from the Kaioshin Realm and has been stated by Goku himself to be around the size of Earth itself. When Granolah and Gas made their wishes to become the strongest in the universe, being inside a Room of Spirit & Time did not count as existing inside of the universe, allowing people in it like Frieza to be exempt from that wish.
Sugoroku Space
The Sugoroku Space, like the Room of Spirit & Time, is a part of Subspace. It exists as a between-space dimensionally, making it completely outside the influence of the Afterlife / Sanzu River with the souls of those who died wandering it for eternity. Once trapped, nobody from the outside can reach you even if they utilize the subspace to traverse like Kibitokai.
Dimensional Walls
The dimensional wall is the space-time that separates the realms within the macrocosm, even the Room of Spirit and Time. It’s wide enough to completely cover the Living World and its destruction would cause the macrocosm to collapse in on itself.
Subspace
In Toei exclusive content, teleportation is associated with passing through the realm of Subspace, with it even being possible to intercept other beings passing through here as shown with Meta-Cooler and Baby Vegeta. It is a realm stated to transcend time while spanning the existing cosmology as seen whenever Goku or the Kais teleport across Universe 7 from the living world to Afterlife to the Supreme Kai’s Realm. According to guide statements, it is located between dimensions and detached from any of them, lacking the concept of time or space. Other realms like Rooms of Spirit & Time or Sugoroku Space are merely parts of Subspace (and possibly more as the Supreme Kai’s Kai Kai is able to reach Zeno’s Palace, which exists outside all 12 universes). From the perspective of traveling through Subspace, normal space & time outside appear to be frozen as shown in Kakarot (this being oddly similar to how it was presented in Budokai Tenkaichi’s opening).
The Multiverse
Composed of 12, originally 18, universes, each individual universe in Dragon Ball follows the
same structure and depiction found in the Daizenshuu as shown by the Dragon Ball Super Manga. Each universe in Dragon Ball comes in a pair, separated via something known as Neutral Space, but connected in the sense of having nearly if not outright identical species, planets, stars, etc but entirely different histories. For an example of how much these histories can differ, Universe 7’s Saiyans are a vicious species that would eventually be almost entirely wiped out while Universe 6’s Saiyans are a peaceful species currently thriving as galactic peacekeepers.
Daima’s Demon Realm

The realm that came before all else in Dragon Ball’s inner Multiverse, the Demon Realm exists beyond and outside all 12 of the existing universes in Dragon Ball, and is responsible for the creation of its Multiverse in the first place. It is composed of 3 spaces known as Demon Worlds, each of which exist on top of and supersede the previous. These Demon Worlds contain various planets in spite of what their name would imply in terms of size. Accessible only via large fish known as Sir Warp, who reside in a dimension that exists between the Demon Realm and Multiverse as a whole, it is safe to assume the Demon Realm should be comparable in size to an individual universe in Dragon Ball considering the realm served as the basis for its entire Multiverse.
Not to be confused btw with Heroes/Xenoverse’s Demon Realm, totally different thing.
The Neutral Space
As mentioned in the section above going over the Multiverse, Neutral Space serves as a sort of barrier/holding space for the 12 universes, being what is responsible for preventing the individual universes from making contact with each other and in general serves as the sort of pillar keeping Dragon Ball’s Multiverse together. It is this space where the Tournament of Destroyers took place, and is where Super Shenron was summoned for the first time in the franchise’s history. Daima would later show that all 18 (currently 12) universes were created within Neutral Space by the deity Rymus, as commanded to him by a previous Demon King.
Dimension of Swirling Lights
Seen in the DBS: Broly movie, the Strange Dimension of Swirling Lights is a dimensional wall beyond the boundaries of the macrocosm accessed by Super Saiyan Gogeta and Super Saiyan Broly and again by Broly and Jiren before eventually being destroyed and broken out of once both went into their highest-levels of power respectively.
Seemingly just a cool-looking visual for a while, the DBS: Broly Anime Comic released around the time of DBS: Super Hero coming to theaters would result in it becoming much more of a hot-button topic due to it describing the realm as “Superdimensional”, with Chapter 6 of the comic referring to the battle inside of it as “The Ultimate Superdimensional Battle”. Dokkan Battle also calls it an “extra dimensional space” or more accurately ”different (Spatial) dimensional space”, with the kanji referring to spatial dimensions.
Alternate Timelines

Going outside the macrocosm’s structure exists the full extent of the timeline / temporal dimension of the universe, along with the myriad parallel timelines that exist alongside it. Parallel worlds / timelines generally follow the Many Worlds Interpretation, i.e. that worlds branch off into their own new timelines after every choice made, including when “time traveling” (which is more dimensional travel/timeline branching in this context) to the past or future. Each of these parallel worlds exist separately and independently from one another, this includes having different flows of time as it’s only when time machines are used to travel through timelines do timelines become temporally connected. When Future Zeno erased Future Trunks’ timeline, an act described as erasing the entirety of his history forever from reality, even after Bulma’s time machine had been upgraded to freely travel across time, there is no effect on the main timeline or any other timeline at all despite diverging only at relatively recent history and was reflected in the number of timelines that the Time Rings are associated with, being able to observe their destruction when a timeline is erased.
Weaknesses

By far Goku’s greatest weakness is the simple fact that his Ki reserves are still limited at the end of the day. If an enemy requires an excessive amount of energy to defeat, it can result in Goku gradually starting to weaken over the course of a fight, as he begins running out of Ki. Goku’s Saiyan lust for battle and his passion for martial arts have also resulted in him always desiring to overcome his opponents at their strongest, sometimes outright refusing to land a killing blow if it means doing so before going up against their full potential.
Saitama
Background

“I’m not a hero because I want your approval. I do it because I want to!”
Saitama, was a regular, ordinary man in City Z. Between jobs and down on his luck, just being done with yet another failed interview, Saitama was met with an encounter that would change his life, and the world, forever. A young boy was being attacked by a crab monster, and Saitama refused to sit by idly. After all, when he was a kid, all he could ever dream of was becoming a hero.
As outclassed as it seemed he was against the monster, he gave it his all and managed to kill the creature on the spot. This gave Saitama the confidence he needed to begin training. With an intensive routine of 100 push ups, 100 sit ups, 100 squats and a 10 kilometer run, every single day, he became stronger, strong enough to be a hero. He trained for years, eventually breaking the limits of humanity, and losing his hair in the process.
However, as Saitama grew in strength, there was something slowly being taken away from him, his passion. See, Saitama was getting so strong, that his opponents were becoming complete and utter jokes to him. Day in day out, it was taking less effort. Until, pretty much all of his opponents were only taking one single serious punch to take out, sometimes even less than that. Things grew dull for Saitama, and he was practically back to square one, desperate for his serious fight.
But, things wouldn’t stay dull for long, word spread of an exceptionally strong hero very fast, eventually making it to one Genos. An S-class hero in his own right, Genos was already quite strong, but shared a similar drive to improve, just like Saitama did back when he started. The two became friends, and Saitama began to train Genos to be a hero much like himself.
Saitama’s journey took him all across the world, from fighting deep sea creatures to aliens from space, Saitama continued to fight, and continued to meet more people.
As he met more people, perhaps his true power became more obvious, he’s just a guy who’s a hero for fun. Sure he can fight quarter kilometer tall monsters, but him starting as a normal guy made it easier for him to see who these heroes and villains were beyond their masks, in a figurative sense. From heroes like the sisters Fubuki and Tatsumaki, or even King, who he found to be a somewhat kindred spirit, Saitama’s down to earth energy could bring anyone to his level, rather that be bringing them down or raising them up.
As of right now, Saitama continues his daily life, facing off heralds of God, Ninjas, and rampaging robot armies, all while taking out threats with a single strike. He even left the Hero Association, joining a group far more important, the Hero Name Victims Association, fighting for the right of having actual good hero names! Perhaps, at the end of the day, that’s all Saitama truly needs. Not a fierce fight that pushes him to his non-existent limits, but bonds with others that can bring joy and passion back to his life.
Experience & Skill

Originally just a hero for fun, Saitama has been on all sorts of wild crusades as a member of the Hero Association. Before then, he didn’t really need to utilize skill to win fights, as every opponent could just get one shot. But once the enemies that threatened the whole planet came into the picture? That’s when he had to lock in, kind of. But we’ll get to that. First off, to get to where he needed to be physically, Saitama trained his body extensively. 100 push ups, sit-ups, squats, and a 10 kilometer run every single day for three years! Makes sense that he’d have great knowledge on his body’s capabilities and technique.
He’s able to constantly come up with creative new implementations of his abilities off rip, like creating thousands of after images to overwhelm opponents, using his tie to rip off the eye of a monster, flipping the entire battlefield up to confuse his opponent’s senses and using his hands to squirt out large amounts of liquid as a jet stream to perform a beam struggle against an attack utilizing the core of the Earth. He can also keep up with some of the greatest martial artists on the planet just through reflexes and sheer casualness, like the five time champion Suiryu when he just wanted to find out what martial arts was all about and Garou who was trained by the legendary Bang and mastered numerous elite techniques.
Keep in mind this is the same Garou who can copy techniques just from reading about them or seeing them once and then improve them greatly, like when he performed the Roaring Sky Ripping Fist by himself even though both Bang and Bomb can’t pull it off. He was also capable of mastering every martial arts style he saw and created a new technique and mastered it after one more fight. And yet even all of that knowledge failed to prove itself a challenge against Saitama.
Speaking of Garou, Saitama is also described as being able to instantly master techniques by the Hero Hunter himself when he was in Cosmic Fear Mode, but this often doesn’t come to play due to Saitama’s own lax nature and lack of interest in practicing martial arts. To Saitama, martial arts all boil down to “moving in a cool way”. And yet, this complete lack in terms of actual “skill” never actually matters in combat, and Saitama’s extremely experienced in killing monsters with all kinds of powers through overwhelming strength alone. Psychics, Ninjas, Martial Artists, Robots, Supernatural Creatures, Dragons, Saitama has punched all of them and won.
Equipment
Hero Suit

Every hero needs a cool suit, right? Saitama’s iconic outfit was a gift given to him by a draper he befriended. It lacks any sort of unique properties, other than looking pretty cool.
Abilities
Broken Limiter

Every living being that exists in this world possesses what the scientist Dr. Genus refers to as a “Limiter”, a set limit to how much they are able to grow stronger. If one were to break this limiter, it would make them lose control of their minds from the sheer burden. And yet, through his grueling training routine, Saitama has broken his limiter entirely. As he is now, there is no limit to how strong Saitama can become, and since he undergoes his routine every single day, he is always growing stronger and stronger with each passing day.
However, the true nature of Saitama’s broken limiter would reveal itself in the battle against Garou in his Cosmic Fear Mode. Garou was capable of copying Saitama’s moves and matching him in power entirely, being completely equal to him. However, being faced with an equal opponent while fueled by pure rage simply accelerated Saitama’s growth, exponentially so. In spite of starting the battle as equals, Saitama became so much stronger that Garou was completely dominated, unable to stand up to Saitama at all.
Normal Punches

Saitama’s trademark technique… he punches. Not much else to it. He also has his Consecutive Normal Punches technique where he… punches. Consecutively.
Serious Series

These moves are showing Saitama just slightly locking in, which is a bit ironic given the name.
- Serious Punch: Compared to his normal punches, the Serious Punch has Saitama put more effort and purpose into his strikes rather than just nonchalantly swinging with no effort. He used it to perfectly counter Boros’ Collapsing Star Roaring Cannon and split the whole ocean in another case. His afterimages can also perform the Serious Punch
- Serious Sidestep: Saitama does sidesteps but like. Really hard.
- Serious Squirt Gun: While taking a nice dip in lava, Saitama used his hands as the trigger for a liquid squirt gun, creating a strong streamed liquid that overpowered Orochi’s Gaia Cannon, despite the fact he was actively drawing power from the Earth’s core.
- Serious Table-Flip: In this case the table being the ground, Saitama digs his fingers deep into that ground and completely rips apart the area he’s in, notably when he performed it on the entire monster association base or Io.
- Serious Whack-A-Mole:Saitama slam his fist into your head like a hammer to resemble a whack-a-mole
- Serious Spin: Saitama spins with such extreme speed that it generates shockwaves and wind deadly enough to destroy all surrounding enemies.
- Serious Squat: we know Saitama is good at doing squats, but when he’s serious he can push an entire ship across the horizon
- Serious Sneeze: We all gotta sneeze. But when the One Punch Man does it, he accidentally blows away half of Jupiter. Oops.
Attack Reflection

Saitama likes to reflect attacks right back at the opponent. Whether its lasers coming at his own forehead, punching a giant planet destroying laser back at its wielder, or stopping a whole dimensional attack with just two fingers. In a bonus page in volume 37, Saitama also blind Genos when he uses lightning core.
Non Physical Interactions/
Dimensional Travel

Saitama’s overwhelming strength isn’t limited to the confines of the physical world. He was somehow able to punch his way into Phoenix Space, a spiritual space contained within the Phoenix Man costume, and was also able to physically grab and kick away Garou’s portals.
Enhanced Senses
Saitama’s senses are far superior to that of normal humans. His hearing was good enough to hear Phoenix Man from outside of his Phoenix Space, and his eyesight is keen enough to keep up with Garou’s movements while he escaped, a feat none of the S-Class Heroes could achieve. He was also capable of sensing Empty Void’s Dimension Slash, an attack fired from another dimension.
Pseudo Flight

He farted. This fart specifically allows him to travel right into the portal Garou created to get back to Earth.
Power Mimicry

One of Saitama’s many talents is his ability to instantly master techniques, surpassing the original versions. While we haven’t seen much of this talent, Garou considers this instant mastery to be Saitama’s “specialty”, and no example of this mimicry could be greater than…
Time Travel

As Saitama and Garou’s fight came to a close, the Hero Hunter came to regret his actions in Cosmic Fear Mode, and begged Saitama to undo all of his terror. In order to achieve such a feat, it requires one to manually control all of the elementary particles composing their body, making all of them move as though they are anti-particles, which move backwards through time.
Once this is finished, Saitama’s body begins to flow backwards through time, allowing him to witness past events and choose the exact moment in the past where he wants to throw a punch, leading to…
“Zero Punch”

A punch that ends a fight before it has a chance to begin, a reversal of causality where the outcome happens before the start.
It is important to note that Saitama has no memory of ever performing this technique. He is unable to recall the events of the Ominous Future he prevented, including how to time travel.
Fist That Defies God

Saitama’s fists possess a strange property currently not understood by any in his world. They are known by God’s subordinates as “the fists that defy God”, being able to forcefully remove God’s power from Garou and Empty Void, making the power leak out and reverting them to human form. The exact mechanics of this ability, and whether it would apply to any powers other than God’s own, are up in the air.
Fourth Wall Awareness

Saitama once pointed out that it took three panels for him to find Oculette. This means he is aware of his nature as a character in a manga! Wow.
Which doesn’t really mean anything.
Resistances

- Extreme Temperatures: Saitama has shown great resistances to both extremes of temperature. For the cold, Saitama was completely unaffected by being encased in ice repeatedly by Scrawny Bean Sprout, in addition to doing battle while completely naked in Io, a moon with surface temperature well below freezing. As for extreme heat, Saitama once took a bath by submerging himself in lava, getting used to the heat to the point of being completely unaffected. He also didn’t get burned by any of Boros’ attacks despite the fact he burns things by moving or getting hit by Garou’s Gamma Ray Burst
- Limited Absorption: Despite Orochi being able to absorb other things around him, when he tried to absorb Saitama, his flesh slipped off Saitama’s bald head
- Battlefield Removal: Whenever it’s jumping really fast or farting…. Saitama is pretty much unable to be thrown into space. He can also broke through dimensions like Phoenix Man’s spiritual realm
- Internal Damage: Garou’s Fa Jin, which strikes one’s internal organs to bypass durability, failed to harm Saitama.
- [Webcomic] Power Mimicry: The fiendish Dr. Kuseno had acquired Saitama’s biological data and gave it to Drive Knight, so that it could use it in battle. However, this did not work. Saitama’s power cannot be understood or replicated, and is worthless in data analysis.
- Telekinesis: At the end of Saitama’s brawl with the Terrible Tornado, she attempted to finish him off by sending him flying to outer space, but he was “too heavy” for her to lift any further than a few feet off the ground.
- Radiation: Saitama was able to stand near Cosmic Fear Garou, who passively emitted cosmic radiation no human could withstand, and similarly was unharmed by his Nuclear Fission punches, which had the same radioactive properties as an actual nuclear bomb.
- [Retcon] Spatial Cutting: Saitama was able to grab Empty Void’s Dimension Slash, an attack stated to cut through space itself, with his bare hands
- [Cover] Black Hole(Debatable): In a chapter cover, we see Saitama lift 2 black holes
Forms
Saitama (with hair)

To be fair, it’s a pretty cool tie.
Charanko

After Charanko got his ass whooped by Garou, Saitama decided to disguise himself as him to participate in a tournament and learn more about martial arts. In this disguise Saitama utilizes some deadly attacks like punching his opponents once and accidentally using his butt to knock someone out when he spins!!! Unfortunately since he was disqualified for wearing a wig, he had to leave the place before he got caught but now we won’t ever know who this strong dude really is…

Weaknesses

While it isn’t really an issue for him in his fights, Saitama is utterly lacking in knowledge of martial arts, winning battles through sheer overwhelming strength and speed above all else. He tends not to go for killing punches unless he is certain his opponents are monsters, holding back as much as necessary against human opponents.
Before the Verdict
One Punch Man Cosmology

While we haven’t given much info about the cosmology of OPM, it’s pretty complex from what we know so far. While the universe is pretty much similar to ours from what we know, when it comes to the multiverse we know bits of it so far. After Saitama travels back in time to stop Garou from killing humanity, Genos sees the old timeline events which have him talking about multiverse theory and how there’s a near infinite amount of other worlds out there. Next off is Blast’s own dimension, which is a crack between space-time in another dimension so it’s its own realm outside of the multiverse.
Seal Dimension

Finally we have to talk about God’s dimension. Little is known about where he is currently sealed at but from what we know in order to even interact with God you either have the ability to manipulate space and time or touch one of God cubes to warp space into his dimension. However for the latter, even if you go into his space, you can’t be able to see his body at all and can only communicate with him with the cubes or if he leaves his dimension to talk to you like he did with Homeless Emperor or Garou. However even when he goes to the third dimension, many people couldn’t see his body when he left, only those giant thunderclouds he made but why is that?
Retconned Chapters
Well for starters we find out in the Ninja arc, there the parallel worlds branch which is an infinitely bubbling forth like foam from a higher dimension Void is in. Not only that but we learn about more about God dimension which is a confirmed to be another dimension that only Empty Void can open in a specific area but turns out the dimension God is located at is a higher dimension that ignores “distance , energy and size” which makes it so that God’s dimension is above the infinite parallel worlds, making it so that’s he’s at least 5th Dimensional.
So while the canon has pretty much confirmed MWI and God possibly being a higher dimensional being, with the Retcon outright confirming it. So does that make Saitama 5D?…. Well
Does Saitama scale?
For Canon there’s not much way we can scale Saitama to his cosmology since we haven’t really seen effect his multiverse in anyway beside from “transcending time and space” when he time travel, even ignoring that he forgot about it, it pretty clearly a hax ability and not raw stats and all. There’s also Saitama destroying Blast dimensional gates which we can’t really prove effect his whole dimension and even then it’s pretty iffy to say Blast dimension is higher than 4th dimensional
Now how about Retcon? Well it’s a lot easier than before but you can probably poke holes into it. In one of the chapters we see Void grow infinitely bigger than his own universe but we then see him rip apart space inside of the parallel worlds which have infinite worlds in there. However the thing about Void is that his main ability is to slice through dimension so you could just say it’s also a hax ability. Although if you believe that Void is ripping through the parallel worlds to be AP based then that would make it so that Saitama scales to that part of the dimension which is 4-D+ or Multiversal+. However when it comes to God’s dimension we have no way to scale Saitama to that dimension. Not only do we already know Saitama hasn’t really interacted with God’s dimension besides touching his cube but from what we know from God so far. God is currently in a dimension where only Void can open his dimension in the retcon and even if we ignore that, Saitama has no time or space manipulation like Blast right now. So at the moment we can’t really prove Saitama scales to God especially since we know Saitama can’t really see God or that a small amount of his power made Cosmic Garou his equal.
So in summary if we use retcon chapters we could say Saitama is 4d to 4d+ to potentially 5d if you wanna believe Blast dimension is 5d but we wouldn’t push it. However we can’t prove that Saitama scales to God’s dimension at all.
Verdict

Tertiary
While these two are certainly the strongest of the strong, we think it’s best to take things relatively slow and start by examining more tertiary factors, namely how both measure up to each other in terms of Skill and Experience. Let’s start with the latter, as it’s much simpler to discuss, namely due to the fact that Goku is just far more blatantly experienced when it comes to fighting then Saitama. Even at the most basic of comparisons, Goku and Saitama have a gap of 20 years when it comes to their canon ages, and things get compounded further by the fact that Goku has been fighting practically his entire life, while Saitama only started training and fighting around 3 years before the events of One Punch Man.
When comparing their respective opponents, Goku yet again just has a much greater lead on the Caped Baldy, with characters like Hit being over 1000 years old or Goku’s martial arts ability being respected by the likes of Beerus, who has been around for countless millenia as Universe 7’s God of Destruction. Nothing in One Punch Man is really comparable to either of these examples, meaning the Experience side of Tertiaries goes to Goku. However, while one might think Skill would be a similar sweep at a glance, especially factoring in things like Ultra Instinct which is a form of martial arts mastery so revered even the aforementioned Gods of Destruction stand in awe of it being achieved, Saitama is actually far more skilled than one might realize. While Saitama’s fighting style is…undeniably simple, in the world of One Punch Man, this simplicity is considered to be as close to a near-perfect fighting style as one can get. Even when faced against someone like Garou, who can copy any technique and martial arts style with a mere glance, Saitama was simply too much for him.
In fact, Garou himself has stated that Saitama has an almost uncanny ability to master techniques simply by just observing them or being taught how to perform them, such as the infamous Zero Punch from the end of the Cosmic Garou arc. With all that being said though, Goku himself isn’t exactly lacking in this category either, what with him mastering techniques such as the Kamehameha by simply observing it or even recreating Hakai by just hearing about it. When one takes into consideration this, as well as the fact that Goku has plenty of skill statements that are comparable to Saitama’s own, we believe Goku should similarly take the Skill side of Tertiaries, and with that, this category goes to Goku.

Oh, and if you’re questioning why intelligence was excluded…while both certainly aren’t stupid, especially when it comes to combat, let’s be real here.
Speed
While Goku may be more skilled & experienced, there’s no doubt Saitama could simply work around that provided he’s fast enough, therefore we must ask, which of the two is faster? When comparing their more direct speed feats, there’s simply no question that Goku is outpacing Saitama to a ludicrous degree, with things like his trip from Grand Kai’s Planet to Hell or his gathering of Ki for the Spirit Bomb against Kid Buu reaching well into Quadrillions of times faster than light, while Saitama in comparison is on the much slower side of things when considering his reactions to things like Flashy Flash’s Lightspeed Slash. However, scaling is obviously on the table, and Saitama should more than easily scale to the likes of Blast who was able to react to and redirect the Serious Punch², which would necessitate speeds of up to 80.15 Trillion x FTL. While absurdly impressive, even using the lowest end of Goku’s trip to Hell (15.4 Quadrillion x FTL) would still make Goku 192x faster than the highest calculations one can afford Blast’s feat. With that, Speed goes to Goku without much of a contest…

…is what we would say if not for the retconned elephant in the room. As stated at the beginning of the blog, we will be including the retconned feats from the One Punch Man manga, with by far the most important being those found in the Ninja Village arc. To make a long story short, the villain Empty Void has the ability to attack from outside the universe, with Saitama reacting to these attacks very blatantly and eventually just pulling Void back down into the universe despite Void residing outside of it. Calculations for Saitama reacting to the slashes in and of themselves can get into the Quadrillions range, with his reaction to the 2nd slash even getting all the way up to 1.46 Quintillion x FTL, which would actually leave Saitama 94x faster than the low-end for Goku’s trip to Hell and 6.93x faster than the high-end. Of course, however, things get tricky when one remembers that Goku is massively upscaling his trip to Hell, meaning it should be perfectly fine to apply things like the Super Saiyan form multipliers to the feat, of which can get up to 400x using strictly just the original 3 Super Saiyan forms. This would then put Goku as 57.39x faster than Saitama’s best, with one also being able to argue that this trip to Hell isn’t even Goku’s best speed feat in the first place.
However, there is the feat of Saitama pulling Void down back to their own universe, which would require speeds that are just straight up incalculable to put it bluntly. With this feat in mind, Saitama would be Immeasurably faster than any of what we’ve mentioned for Goku thus far, meaning this category should actually go to Saitama, right? Well, kind of! While this feat is certainly ridiculous, Goku himself actually has a few non-finite arguments of his own, such as reacting to attacks from Infinite Zamasu who had become a living timeline, albeit it can be debated on if this should fully count as an outright incalculable speed feat. What’s less debated is Goku’s fight with Metal Cooler inside the Instant Transmission dimension, which would require both characters to be moving faster then, well, instantly. Goku’s fight with Kid Buu in Kakarot can similarly be argued as such, with both fighting within what appears to be stopped time. Finally, a major advantage for Goku yet again is the fact that he inherently upscales almost all of these to ludicrous degrees, as while one obviously should never apply multipliers to feats that quite literally can’t be calculated, they still do provide a degree of upscaling that Saitama doesn’t have access to.
All in all, while Goku is certainly much faster with finite ends, Saitama’s non-finite ends (at least with retconned content) are actually surprisingly valid, and while Goku can certainly match and can even be argued as technically faster, we believe it’s best to call category a draw.

Growth
When it comes to characters like these, one could argue their most defining aspects besides the sheer power they wield is that of their ability to grow stronger and stronger in what feels like an instant. When it comes to Goku, while he has countless examples of breaking his limits we could point to, arguably his most famous in recent-ish (oh my god Ultra Instinct is almost a decade old) memory is that of his growth throughout the Tournament of Power. Within the span of 48 minutes, Goku would not only attain Ultra Instinct, but achieve its completed form, all while growing in power constantly throughout the tournament. One of the more blatant examples of this is during his various fights with Jiren, where despite Goku struggling to even move him an inch in their first outing to the point of needing Ultra Instinct just to stand a chance, would proceed to be able to keep pace with and fight against him later in the tournament with just Super Saiyan Blue Kaioken despite Goku being much lower on energy and Jiren unleashing more and more of his own power.
However, for how impressive this certainly is along with the many other examples Goku has under his belt, Saitama’s rate of growth is outright cartoonish. During his fight with Cosmic Garou, despite the two beginning their fight on even footing, Saitama’s broken limiter would cause him to simply grow astronomically ahead of Garou’s own strength in an extremely short amount of time. While one could note that this growth was due to the specific circumstances surrounding everything, namely the stress and excitement of fighting a true equal as well as his rage over Genos’ death, it stands to reason that if Saitama was faced with a strong enough opponent that he would simply just begin to rapidly catch up and inevitably overtake whoever he is fighting thanks to his broken limiter.
Goku’s growth rate is by no means unimpressive, but there’s just simply an undeniable distance between him and Saitama when it comes to comparing their respective ability to grow mid-fight, as while Goku certainly can get stronger over the course of battle thanks to things like his Saiyan DNA, these usually can take time and healing due to usually being reliant on things such as Zenkai Boosts, and even then no Zenkai Boost has ever shown the sheer insanity that is Saitama’s potential to simply just keep growing stronger. At the end of the day, Growth goes to the One Punch Man.

Power
So far, we’ve talked about things that while certainly important, are not what you or we know these characters for, and so we’ve decided to save this most defining attribute for last, that being…how strong are Goku and Saitama respectively? When it comes to Goku, while we’re all tired of hearing about it, there’s no denying that the shockwaves created in his clash against Beerus are absurdly impressive, with them at minimum being undeniably Universal in strength. However, universes in Dragon Ball are unique and can more accurately be considered macrocosms containing universes within universes, namely the Living World (our own universe) and the Afterlife. With this, the shockwaves, as well as other universe-threatening feats such as Buuhan’s Vice Shout or Omega Shenron’s Minus Energy Ball can get ludicrously higher numbers, with them ranging anywhere from 3x Universal all the way to 680 Septillion x Universal.
We do wanna note that there are countless other ends in between these that one can argue for the destruction of Universe 7, as things like the size of the Afterlife in general or guidebooks stating Heaven is the size of the universe itself can massively inflate these numbers beyond what one might expect. However, even just limiting Goku to the lowest possible end for the shockwaves, things can get really out of control once we begin to factor in the confirmed transformation multipliers from the various Super Saiyan forms, as it can’t be understated that even just the original Super Saiyan’s 50x multiplier can lead to ludicrous number jumping, not accounting for later Super Saiyan forms with stated multipliers. Furthermore, this feat should outright apply to Goku’s base form by the end of Battle of Gods, as both the Dragon Ball Super manga and anime have Goku absorb the power into his base form, further justifying the usage of multipliers. So if Goku is this strong, how does Saitama measure up?
Using strictly canon material, Saitama can get all the way up to 356.97 ZettaFOE AKA Galaxy level. This undeniably is just far below what Goku himself is capable of, but as we went over in the Speed section, Void is a giant retconned elephant in the room and one that jumps Saitama’s numbers up absurdly high. When we said Void attacks from outside the universe, we didn’t just mean that he remains his regular human size, rather he grows to such a degree that he outright eclipses the universe he’s targeting. For Saitama to pull something of this size back down, he would need to be lifting with enough force to destroy 428.80 Octillion Universes. This number is ludicrous, to put it into perspective, Septillion is around 24 zeroes, while Octillion is 27 zeroes. This would make Saitama 630x stronger than the Shockwaves’ highest end, meaning strength would go to Saitama on paper. Of course, things aren’t that simple, since as stated already Goku performed that feat in what essentially was his base form at the very beginning of Dragon Ball Super and should therefore upscale it to an almost incalculable degree on top of whatever multipliers we can give him. However, we very much don’t want this to become a hypothetical multiplier off, and luckily Goku does overtake this power advantage with the strictly canonical multipliers we know of in Dragon Ball, with the combination of the original 3 Super Saiyan forms (400x in total) and Super Saiyan Blue Kaioken’s x20 multiplier making Goku around 11.28x stronger, and if one wants to use the debatable 50x multiplier for Super Saiyan Blue, as its simply applying Super Saiyan to Super Saiyan God, then he’d be around 564x stronger.
Admittedly, all this number crunching can hurt one’s head, so it’d be best to just think of it in a sense as Saitama is possibly stronger then base Goku with the Void feat, but Goku can catch up and surpass Saitama with various transformations and can be argued to massively upscale the shockwaves in the first place, not even accounting for something like the Buuhan feat which Goku would upscale that much harder. However, we aren’t done just yet, as while Void’s finite AP ends are certainly ridiculous, he also presented a case for something that hadn’t been thought of much yet at the time, that being the One Punch Man cosmology. During this arc, the idea of MWI would essentially be confirmed, with there being infinite timelines born from countless infinitely different possibilities, with God himself occupying a higher dimensional space above these infinite worlds. This would make the One Punch Man cosmology at the minimum Multi+, with arguments for 5-D due to how God has been presented thus far.
Therefore, a major question one has to ask is…does Saitama scale to his entire cosmology? The answer is complicated, and while we did go over it previously, it is most likely no. For starters, Void is never once presented as outright threatening the entire infinite multiverse, with his technique instead being based almost entirely around attacking a singular target from outside the universe rather than simply destroying everything. As for things one could argue dimensional tiering for such as Blast’s pocket dimension, for one to successfully cross at least one of the necessary thresholds for dimensional tiering, they must qualitatively surpass both the 3 dimensions of space AND dimension of time that makes up our universe. Blast very blatantly is unable to escape the dimension of time or exist outside of it judging by his encounters with God, therefore ruling that off the table. Finally, while one could theoretically argue that because God is potentially 5-D that Cosmic Garou should scale, it’s made very apparent that Garou is not wielding anywhere close to the full might of God’s power, especially since a mere fraction of it was all it took for Garou to become equal to Saitama in the first place.
Even with all of that taken into account, it’s not like it’s impossible to argue Goku can match these more dubious high-end arguments in the first place, as something like the Dimension of Swirling Lights in DBS: Broly has been described as “extradimensional” and the fight within it was stated to be “beyond time and space.” We want to clarify that we are NOT arguing Goku is definitively 5-D or anything of the sort, as not only does something like the Dimension of Swirling Lights have issues of its own one could point to in regards to valid dimensional tiering (namely its lack of confirmed size) but in general dimensional tiering has become somewhat of a buzzword in VS Debating circles that people are far less strict with then they really should be, and we personally don’t want to feed into that. However, when it comes to the argument of “who scales to their crazier non-finite ends?” Goku undeniably takes this in spades considering he’s now equal to/stronger then a stronger version of Broly, who performed the feat, while Saitama currently has no real way of scaling to his full cosmology.
With that, we STILL aren’t done, as there is quite a major question that still needs to be answered in relation to power, that being…wouldn’t Goku simply let Saitama catch up to him and then get overwhelmed in-character? The answer to this is obviously complicated, but we personally do not believe this would change things to such an extent that Saitama would now win for a couple of reasons. For starters, while Goku is someone who prefers to fight his enemies at their full power, there have been occasions where he simply won’t let it happen out of pragmatism. A major example one can point to is Goku’s attempt at ringing out Jiren during the Tournament of Power, as not only would this be a win via ringout rather than straight up fighting, but was also before Jiren had even begun to truly unleash his full strength. Obviously, circumstances are incredibly different here, but considering the automatic bloodlust Goku would receive under Death Battle rules, it’s not out of the question that Goku simply kills Saitama before he reaches his full power, especially if Goku doesn’t realize how the limiter works at first.
As for another reason, it’s entirely possible that due to how massive of a jump each transformation is for Goku’s power that Saitama simply wouldn’t be able to catch up in time before Goku decides to go all out and kill Saitama in the process. Remember, the jump from something like Super Saiyan Blue Kaioken x20 to even just a glimpse of Ultra Instinct against someone like Jiren was absolutely immense, and considering Goku’s affinity for Ultra Instinct in the later stages of Super, it’s entirely possible he doesn’t take things as slow as Saitama would need for him to be able to catch up in time before dying. Even if Saitama did climb that power cliff, Goku has at least 2 different abilities that would likely just kill Saitama before he can completely overpower the Saiyan, namely the Destructo Disk and Hakai. When it comes to the former, it consistently is shown to punch far above its weight class and should have no trouble cutting through Saitama if it lands even if he grew equal to/above Goku, and the latter while certainly not super in-character for Goku to use would simply just eradicate Saitama near instantly.
On top of everything else mentioned thus far, an ironically major issue could arise for Saitama if he were to climb to Goku’s level by copying one of his techniques, namely Ultra Instinct, as it’s noted and shown in-series that imperfect use of Ultra Instinct can affect the body in ways that are very, very severe, meaning Saitama could theoretically fall victim to his own absurd growth and copying. Finally, and we mean it this time, one can argue that the growth rate Saitama showed against Garou simply wouldn’t be as potent here as it was in that fight, mainly due to the fact that Saitama’s absurd growth was in-part heavily accelerated due to the anger he felt over Genos’ death, something that obviously wouldn’t be applicable here…probably.
All in all, this was certainly a much more complicated topic then one might expect going in, however despite everything the One Punch Man had at his disposal, he simply wasn’t strong enough to overcome the Saiyan raised on Earth. The final category, Power, goes to Son Goku, marking his victory.

Conclusion

“Isn’t it exciting to meet someone powerful, Uub?! And now, we’ll get ever stronger!”
Advantages:
- Much stronger with or without retconned material
- Much faster without retconned material and matches in speed or is still arguably faster with retconned material
- Far more experienced and is comparable if not superior in skill
- Transformations and Saiyan biology make it almost impossible for Saitama to outpace him
- Much wider variety of techniques, multiple of which could end the fight instantly
- Sleeps in a big bed with his wife
- The 3rd remake of Battle of Gods broke Crunchyroll and several anime streaming sites, again
- Gear 5 could NEVER.
Disadvantages:
- Possibly weaker in his lower forms near the start of the fight
- Much slower growth rate mid-combat
- Could theoretically be overtaken by Saitama’s rapid growth if the fight dragged on enough
- Doesn’t have an education
- Infamously poor track record against caped superheroes,,,

“Is that really… the limit to your power? Do you honestly think that you won’t get any stronger for the rest of your life? Instead of sitting around frustrated, it’s better to keep on moving forward.”
Advantages:
- Arguably initially stronger with retconned feats…
- Matches speed with retconned feats…
- Has a much more ludicrous growth rate
- Could theoretically copy Goku’s abilities…
- Counters Solar Flare by the fact he’s bald
- The webcomic is popping off right now…
- Season 1 is genuinely still so special please watch it
Disadvantages:
- ….But is ridiculously weaker without them and still weaker overall
- …But is absurdly slower without them and arguably still slower even with them
- …However copying something like Ultra Instinct could destroy his body
- Has no answers to things like Hakai or Destructo Disk
- …we don’t talk about the anime and manga…
I think the manga is currently alright -WAIH
This was much closer of a debate then one might think going in, as while Saitama is reliant on retconned material to catch up, we believe it’s fine to include in a standard composite for the character and with it makes this debate spiral into something much more interesting. There are certainly scenarios where one could actually argue Saitama winning, as the gap in stats isn’t as ludicrous as one might think and Saitama’s ridiculous growth rate combined with that could lead to him clenching a victory over Goku even if it’s through gritted teeth. However, even with all of these taken into account, we believe that Goku would still come out on top, as while he may not be blitzing or stomping as much as one might expect from a glance, he’s still undeniably much stronger and can easily be argued as faster overall, and we believe it unlikely for Saitama to overtake Goku in the first place before eventually dying when considering just how massive of a power jump each transformation would provide for the Saiyan. Combine that with arguable instant-win abilities like the Destructo Disk and Hakai, as well as it being argued that Saitama’s growth rate wouldn’t be as potent as it was against Garou, and all in all we believe that victory goes to Goku.
It may have taken well over a decade, but Goku finally got his crown, cause at the end of the day…Saitama couldn’t beat Goku tho.
The winner is Son Goku.
